EalionMed Silver Calcium Alginate Dressing offers high absorbent capacity and effective fluid management to help reduce the risk of leakage. This dressing forms a soft cohesive gel when in contact with wound fluid, conforming intimately to the wound bed. It maintains a moist wound environment to support autolytic debridement, while also assisting in controlling minor bleeding and ensuring a pain-free experience for both trauma patients and during dressing removal.

When to Change the Dressing

Silver dressings can be left undisturbed for up to 7 days or changed when clinically indicated, such as in cases of leakage or excessive bleeding. It is important to also consider local clinical protocols when determining the appropriate timing for changing the dressing.

Intended Uses

This silver calcium alginate dressing is intended for the management of chronic and acute wounds, including full thickness, partial thickness, or shallow granulating exuding wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, and donor sites.

How to Use

Step 1: Clean the wound using a recommended cleansing solution. Cut the dressing to the desired shape, if necessary. Step 2: Apply the dressing, ensuring a 1cm overlap on the skin surrounding the wound. Step 3: Secure the dressing with an appropriate secondary retention method, such as adhesive dressing or medical tape. For lightly exuding wounds, be mindful that the dressing may adhere. If removal is difficult, moisten or soak the dressing in saline to aid in removal and prevent disruption of the healing process.

Important Information

This is a single-use product and should not be reused. Do not apply to non-exuding wounds. Be sure to have a minimum of a 1cm overlap on the surrounding skin, and use a secondary dressing to secure the primary dressing. Note that silver alginate dressings may cause temporary discoloration of the surrounding skin. In cases where the dressing adheres to lightly exuding wounds, use saline for removal to prevent disruption of the wound healing process.
